Christy & Jasen: Phoenix Wedding

I have been dying to share their wedding but was also waiting to release our brand new blog, website, and fresh branding. So what better way than to do it with a fellow photographer’s wedding.  It is always an amazing honor to be able to capture someone’s wedding.  But when a colleague trusts you to capture their wedding, it is incredibly humbling.  Jasen and Christy are the couple behind Studio Moirae based in Pheonix, AZ. I am not much of a writer, but this wedding was so full of emotion that I have to share some of the incredible love, and feelings behind some of the imagery of this love filled weekend.  I think the toughest part was selecting images for this post.  I wish I could have published every single one but like all of my other couples some images are just for them.

Christy and Jasen are the kind of people you sometimes just read about in books.  I love listening to my couples love stories, and C & J story was nothing short of amazing.  From taking the leap and moving across the country after just meeting, to their incredible engagement story which you can read here in Jasen’s own words.  Knowing the love stories behind each couple makes me more attached to each and every one of them.  I try to capture every wedding as a reflection of them and this is an example of how it’s not all about decor, but more about personal details.  From C & J deciding to have their reception at their favorite lounge in Phoenix to Christy redesigning her mother’s wedding dress to honor her memory and have her spirit with her as she was walked down the aisle, surprising Jasen and her dad with it.  One of my favorite parts is that they decided to dress each other and soon after dress their two beautiful children.  Every aspect of this wedding was thought of and behind every detail there was meaning. Christy and Jasen, thank you for letting me capture your amazing day and cannot believe it has already been this long.  Congratulations to you and your lovely family!
