The greatest gift

Guest blogger here-it’s Nancy. Over the last few months, Hiram and I have been slowly, but surely preparing for the greatest gift, a blessing and quite possibly our biggest accomplishment as an “us”. Over the past few weeks, I have been racking my brain for ways to share another detail on our 9 month journey.

We have our 9 month project of belly pics. (Shown here is the latest of 32 wks.)

We have uploaded 4D sono pics of our little one. (Shown yawning-something I have also been doing frequently these last 7.5 months)

The other evening, as I was relaxing on the couch after a long, tiring days work, Hiram walked over and handed me his phone without a word of explanation. I was pleasantly and completely surprised to read what was on the screen…

All my life

Never did I know

Never did I feel

Everyday as a

Lovely gift.

I‘m ready to hold you, keep you

Safe and love you

Everyday for the rest of my life.

I promise

To be there, take you to the

Zoo and show you how

Everyday is a

Lovely gift.

So many exciting/scary/emotional/perfect changes are happening in our life as we know it; and they are happening quickly! I have seen sides of Hiram that I did not know existed, from complete, unconditional love and support while taking care of me when I could not budge for fear of losing my dinner to attending birthing classes and all other things baby related. He has proven already that he will make a wonderful Daddy-she is completely a Daddy’s girl and I couldn’t be happier! She knows his touch, his voice and currently shares his taste in music. He is a wonderful husband and my best friend, making this journey even more exciting to navigate together as we grow our little family.

I’m very happy to have been able to share her name with you all, and just LOVE that it came in the sweetest form of a poem written by her Daddy. We could not be more excited for our greatest gift, Annelise Itzel!

SHOOTERS workshop: Tequila, Mexico

The past week was spent with some amazing individuals.  We had the opportunity to have one of our SHOOTERS workshops in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, México.  If you have never been, let me tell you that it should deffinetly be in your bucket list.  Everything from the people, the food, the city; it is absolutely gorgeous.  When I first started developing the idea of SHOOTERS, our sponsor and host Tequila Casa Noble supported the idea.  Photography lovers themselves Casa Noble hosted the workshop in their hacienda together with La Cofradia.  Everyone  was so incredible that we will forever be grateful.  We made friendships that we will never forget.

I am sure that you have met amazing individuals during your life, but if you ever go to Tequila a person you must meet is Dave Yan. Dave is the International Sales Rep, Director of Events as well as tequila conoisseur for Casa Noble. He immediately took us in and welcomed us like family. He shared some of his favorite eating spots around the city, including introducing us to tequila ice cream. Dave’s passion for tequila and photography are evident and he eagerly showed us every aspect of how Casa Noble makes its award winning tequila. He took us behind the scenes to capture the very essence of Casa Noble; from organic, environmentally friendly, kosher tequila production. We tasted the agave “piña” before and after being cooked in the stone ovens. We tasted the tequila as it was fermenting at different stages. We smelled the agave compost, that is reused to fertilize their fields. And finally, we smelled and tasted tequila at its purest form. To say the least, this was an opportunity of a lifetime with what could not have been a better guide.

Another person you must meet is Adan Alonso Martinez Ruiz.  Adan is probably one of the smartest and most interesting people I have met.  A true artist with a degree in multiple arts, he is a painter, writer, poet, ceramic artist, tour guide, tequila aficionado, and sculpturer.  He is currently writing his first book based on local folklore legends and I have already reserved my copy.

That was just the beginning.

On Tuesday, we started the workshop early inside of Casa Noble’s barrel room with the encompasing aroma of french oak barrels and tequila.  Everyone was eager and we where ecstatic to be there and meet eveyone.  We had a blast and as always by the end of the workshop we all became not only colleagues but friends for life.  We had some amazing models from  STHERA models agency who totally rocked it!

Here are some of the images from this workshop. As always feel free to leave your comments.
